We did a whole day trip exploring La Mussara, a mountain of Catalunya. It is named after an abandoned village that sits atop the mountain. This mountain is surrounded by many small towns, and offers a huge range of activities. Our first stop was Avencs de la Febró, which is a narrow gorge, 30 to 50 meters deep, that appears in the middle of nowhere (so be careful of where you step!) This is quite an unknown place where only few locals would know, so naturally we were the only people that day. Climbing down the gorge was just a taaad challenging, but we made it! Once you hit the bottom of the gorge, you will see the entrance to a cave. (Sorry but there are no photos as we decided not to bring along our phones into the cave!)
Exploring the cave isn't difficult as long as you have a torch in hand and watch your head at all times! This was quite a cool cave with different rock formations and some narrow passages which required us to go down on all fours. We spent a total of 45mins inside the cave and exited from the same entrance. Our next and final stop was the abandoned village, La Mussara. We did a short hike along the way too, accompanied by splendid views.
